Work organisation and medium- to long-term decisions in agriculture are based on weather forecasts and seasonal or climatic trends in the area.
Weather data are therefore fundamental, and all the more important given that they enable farmers and technicians to rely on forecasting models to calculate phenology, plant diseases, irrigation and nutrient balances. Consequently, it is essential for farms to be able to rely on highly reliable weather/climate data.
The Agricolus platform uses physical weather stations, located in strategic points of the farm, able to provide accurate data continuously with hourly time interval.
In addition to this type of station, Agricolus has decided to use virtual weather stations (or virtual points) from meteoblue, a global provider of high-quality weather services.
We will talk to meteoblue about the importance of weather data and its reliability.
